Welcome to Capella electronic chart Viewer and electronic chart system(ECS) information site. You are invited to install the free Capella Viewer and watch some US sample charts included in the default installation. You can upgrade Capella Viewer to Capella ECS and expand it with your own charts.

The Capella program is developed by the Norwegian software company Contego, who released the first version  in June of 2006. During the course of development, Capella grew in complexity and ability and is today a full implementation of IHO standards S52, S57 and S63. 

We recommend you to view some sample files, included in the installation, as they give you some impression of our chart system.

More free US charts can be downloaded from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA). However, they must be compiled for Capellas internal file format in Capellas program CellImport.
